Description
Benzoin Siam Essential Oil is derived from the resin of the Styrax benzoin tree native to Southeast Asia. There are two variations of this tree, one is Siam Benzoin (S. tonkinensis) found commonly in Southeast Asia, and the other is Sumatra Benzoin (S. paralleloneurus) found in Sumatra regions. It has a warm, sweet, and vanilla-like aroma with balsamic undertones. This essential oil is commonly used in aromatherapy, perfumery, and skincare for its calming and grounding properties. It is known to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and soothe skin irritations.
Plant Part Used
The essential oil is extracted from the resin of the Siam Benzoin (S. tonkinensis) tree.
Extraction Process:
The resin is harvested from the bark of the Siam benzoin tree. The resin is then subjected to a solvent extraction method, where it is dissolved in a solvent such as ethanol or hexane. After extraction, the solvent is removed, leaving behind the aromatic resinoid, which is then further processed to obtain the essential oil.
