What is DMO Oil?

DMO = Dementholised Mint Oil (also written DOM oil, dementholized mint oil or dementholised Mentha arvensis oil).
Made from cornmint (Mentha arvensis) oil after part of its natural menthol is removed by freezing and crystallisation.
Still contains a good share of menthol, plus menthone, isomenthone and other mint components.
Gives a fresh, cooling, minty taste and aroma at a lower cost than pure menthol or peppermint oil.

How DMO Oil is Made

Harvest: Mentha arvensis crop is cut and partly dried in the field.
Distillation: Leaves are steam-distilled to get crude mint oil (Mentha arvensis oil).
Freezing: The crude oil is chilled so natural menthol separates out as crystals.
Separation: Menthol crystals are removed; the remaining liquid is DMO oil.
Filtering & QC: Oil is filtered, tested batch-wise and packed in sealed drums.
