Tip 5 — Cold Process Soap Superfat Timing
When adding Apricot Kernel Oil as a superfat in cold process soap:
Reserve the Apricot Kernel Oil from the lye calculation — do not include it in the main oil weight
Add the superfat Apricot Kernel Oil at trace — after the lye is fully mixed into the main oils
This ensures the Apricot Kernel Oil remains largely unsaponified — retaining its skin conditioning benefit in the finished soap bar
Tip 6 — Label Compliance
When using Apricot Kernel Oil in commercial cosmetic products in India:
INCI Name: Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil
This must appear in the ingredient list per INCI naming conventions
Apricot Kernel Oil should be noted as containing vitamin E naturally — can be declared as "naturally occurring Vitamin E (Tocopherol)" if relevant to product claims
No allergen declaration required — apricot kernel oil does not contain the proteins responsible for nut/stone fruit allergies in most allergen frameworks
